Jimdo Offices- Hamburg

Jimdo Offices- Hamburg

Website-builder and hosting service company Jimdo has recently moved into a new office space in Hamburg, Germany. Design was completed by an in-house team.

Jimdo was founded in 2007 by Christian Springub, Fridtjof Detzner, and Matthias Henze. The three founders set up base in Hamburg Bahrenfeld, in what used to be a margarine factory. The team started on the top floor (5th floor) of the Klinkerstein building with more of a flat-share feel—consisting of a large open office, a kitchen with a coffee machine, and a balcony. Through the years Jimdo has grown and gradually worked its way down, floor by floor, knocking down walls, and creating partitions and stairways.

In second half of 2016, Jimdo arrived at the ground floor of Stresemannstrasse 375 with the opening of the new reception area, an open service area for all Jimdo users, and the larger and brighter rooms of the Jimdo employee restaurant “ChezSam”.

Hubba-to Coworking Offices – Bangkok

Hubba-to Coworking Offices – Bangkok

Supermachine Studio has developed the new coworking offices of Hubba-to located in Bangkok, Thailand.

No network, No Hub…

With their ambition, Hubba, a co-working space operator, wants to create their new edition of their space differently than their first one. They collaborate with Sansiri, one of the biggest developers in Thailand, to curate their space in Habito, Sansiri’s brand new mall locating in the center of the residential territory they created. Hubba came up with the idea of enlarging the portion of “making” within the ecosystem of “working” to suit the new neighborhood. They call it “Artisan space”, which consists of several handmade facilities such as pottery and wood studio, open kitchen and photography dark room. Screening room for different lectures, workshops and seminars is also added. The intention is to expand their already wide networks, strengthen the concept of being a “hub” and reinforce their “co-working” philosophy.

Hortonworks Offices – Budapest

Hortonworks Offices – Budapest

GASPARBONTA has designed the new offices of software development firm Hortonworks located in Budapest, Hungary.

After designing an office in 2015 for Sequence IQ, a Budapest-based development firm acquired by Hortonworks, we had the chance to continue the cooperation with the firm this year, in their recent expansion in Budapest. The new office is located in the same building, just three floors below the first one, with the same geometrical possibilities.

We went on with our original concept, to create an open, playful, welcoming environment for all employees, something like an ‘adult playground’, just like last year, only with different tools. We use simple colors on big surfaces, red, green, blue – the same colors our monitors use to generate every color. The ceiling in the open spaces is covered with a unique wallpaper we designed specifically for this project, a cloud made up from small dots. Just as the actual clouds are made up from tiny drops of water and the clouds we use in computing, which are made up from tiny bits of data.

Inside Accolade’s New Elegant Prague Office

Inside Accolade’s New Elegant Prague Office

Accolade, a company that tries to reinvent the healthcare experience by using a blend of compassion, science and technology, recently opened a new development office in Prague, Czech Republic.

“Most of our design choices were heavily influenced by the time we spent in various cafés here in Karlin during our infancy as a new Accolade office. We enjoyed the ambiance in the cafés and thought we would bring that atmosphere to our office. Furthermore, we always knew that we wanted a truly open office where the random conversation may spark a stellar idea! It helps foster a sense of focus and creativity at the same time. Our office zones each have a distinctive feel to them but also a common theme which mostly centers around famous Czech scientific discoveries and innovations. And lastly, since the world is becoming a sharing, posting and tweeting community we thought we would bring it to the office in more fun and analogue form so we created our Accolade wall. Here everyone can share various recommendations (books, places to eat, movies etc) and it also holds all our upcoming events, visitor schedule and, of course, birthdays”, says Silvie Zeman, HR Manager of Accolade.

Riemser Pharma Offices – Berlin

Riemser Pharma Offices – Berlin

Reuter Schoger has designed the new offices of Riemser Pharma located in Berlin, Germany.

RIEMSER Pharma GmbH is an internationally oriented pharmaceutical company specialising in the marketing, sales and life-cycle management of pharmaceutical products for therapeutic niche markets with a high medical demand in the areas of oncology, anti-infectives and dermatology. The company is focused on opening up new markets, as well as lengthening the shelf life and improving the profitability of its products.

For the company’s new headquarters in Berlin, we designed the conversion of two floors of a 1936 listed building. We were inspired by the capsule form as a familiar unit of measurement for improving health and used it as the key design element for seating, ceiling panels, lighting lines, tables, room dividers and bar furniture. The wide hallway, an impressive 122 metres long, is a real spatial highlight. It seemed wasted as a purely functional space, so we created a light-flooded area for relaxing, exercising and socialising, and partially incorporated the reception area and cafeteria.

Gun+Partners Offices – Ankara

Gun+Partners Offices – Ankara

Zemberek Design has designed the new offices of law firm Gun+Partners located in Ankara, Turkey.

The space, within the office, residence and mall complex, is designed as the patent-trademark office of a internationally recognized law firm.

A refined but dynamic approach that users to feel sense of belonging and comfort, is one of the main decisions affect the concept. Whilst the firm’s corporate and ordered structure refers a systematic plan analysis, the flexibility in common areas formed a base for the working dynamics that supports one another in the office itself.

It was expected that lawyer rooms’ privacy provided flexibly and the working area of law apprentices to be positioned in a way that contacts the circulation within the office. In this context, all offices positioned in parallel with building’s main transparent facades and remaining volume turned into an area for all employees’ common use and circulation. The border between common area and offices, formed a secondary perimeter in parallel with building’s main transparent facade. This perimeter is built by using sliding panels which are designed with materials that have different opacity levels in a way that users can adjust the privacy level themselves according to circumstances. By this way, it’s provided that natural lighting is transferred to middle area in a controlled manner.

Dropbox office in San Francisco

Dropbox office in San Francisco

The wacky tech office is a post-millennium cliche. So it should come as no surprise that Dropbox’s new San Francisco HQ has such odd-ball features as a basement karaoke bar, floating balls of moss, and a room covered in Delft-inspired tile.

Designed by the office interior mavens at Rapt Studio, the sprawling 300,000-square-foot space was separated into distinct design chunks or “neighborhoods.” Rapt was inspired by the social topographies of cities to consider each area as a separate stylistic enclave where different departments and temperaments could thrive. Each area has open areas and meeting rooms designed to fit the work and social needs of everyone from collaboration lovers to solitude seekers.
