IMM East Boulder

IMM East Boulder

When digital advertising agency IMM outgrew its offices in downtown Boulder, Colo., they decided to relocate to the industrial Flatiron Park on the city’s outskirts. The agency enlisted OZ Architecture to transform their new space — a vacant warehouse — into “a unique office environment that would excite their employees.”

The finished project, both sleek and spirited, fills with natural light from its floor-to-ceiling windows and skylights. Biophilic design elements like in-office plants and several outdoor spaces, as well as quirky touches like a millwork sculpture that doubles as a tech-free meeting room, give the new office both an air of creativity and of calm.

Red Bull Offices – Mexico City

Red Bull Offices – Mexico City

SPACE has designed the new offices of energy drink manufacturer Red Bull located in Polanco, Mexico City.

The corporate offices of Red Bull México are located on a single floor of approximately 1000m2. Previously, the company occupied a floor and a half of the same building, but with better use of the space and taking everyone into the open area scheme, it was possible to meet all the needs of the brand in only one level.

The design concept is born when we develop the word “office” and forget all the connotations that can be seen as negative: office hours, hierarchies, work, etc. Thus, we create a space for collaboration that does not translate into the traditional office; open spaces, casual collisions, gym, game room and a bar as the reception area make these offices a place that is not only fun, but also productive.

Library Renovation Gives Students Control

Library Renovation Gives Students Control

The Pierre and Marie Curie University (UPMC) based in central Paris is the largest scientific and medical complex in the country. When leaders decided to reorganize its five university libraries into one, it brought in experts to make sure they could achieve their goals to create a coworking space fostering collaboration without losing the deep-focus spaces expected in a library setting. These two factors needed to work together in harmony all while supporting the increasing use of technology for research and project development.

Before the renovation, the space functioned, but it wasn’t a desired destination for students. Together, the Steelcase Education design team along with the university decided to offer students a variety of workspaces. Educators wanted students to have places for group meetings, training, individual work and areas to simply rest and rejuvenate. These spaces needed to be productive as well as inspirational by providing a way to book rooms, easily reach technology and produce creative group work.

As you can see in the photos taken after the renovation, the UPMC library is now a vibrant coworking space promoting success by offering students choice and control over how and where they work.

DigitalOcean Offices – New York City

DigitalOcean Offices – New York City

RA-DA has designed the new offices of cloud infrastructure and hosting company DigitalOcean located in New York City.

DigitalOcean is a cloud infrastructure provider focused on simplifying web infrastructure for software developers. They are now the world’s second largest web hosting provider, second only to Amazon.

Nailing the culture of this relatively new company was key in our early explorations for the design. This was their first move into a formal office and they had not been through this exercise before. They had a clear sense of identity though so our task was to hone in on that and figure out how to articulate that in the architecture.

Aros Architects has designed the new offices for social purpose company The Behavioural Insights Team  jointly owned by the UK government and Nesta located in London.

We worked with them from the beginning by carrying out stakeholder interviews to identify their aspirations for the new space; they wanted to move into an office space that supported and enhanced their agile working whilst remaining in a key central location. A town hall space was very important for them to house company wide meetings as well as presentations in a flexible space that could be reconfigured for events.

REWE Digital Offices – Cologne

REWE Digital Offices – Cologne

LEPEL & LEPEL has designed the new offices of eCommerce company REWE Digital located in Cologne, Germany.

The historic factory buildings of Cologne’s Carlswerk, founded in 1874, have been undergoing conversion to high-quality office lofts since 2007 for, among others, REWE Digital. In order to provide employees with the best possible working conditions, the former copper works is being converted to open-plan offices. By the middle of 2017 these will provide workplaces for almost 500 IT workers.

In eight consecutive building phases, workplaces, conference rooms and staff rooms are being created, retaining the hall character of the original building and its 5 metre high storeys. Two-storey cubes divide the hall into different zones: one is used as a common area providing a separate space for work groups or meetings. The individual workplaces are designed in the form of “work benches” along the window fronts, with white board areas on the sides of the cubes which teams can use.

ThirdWay Interiors has designed the new offices of Hello Fresh located in Shoreditch, London.

Only a short while ago, Patrick and a merry band of HelloFreshers set out to change the way the nation eats.
