Poppin Opens New Showroom in Washington, DC

Poppin, headquartered in New York City, has announced the opening of a Washington, DC showroom, its fifth in the US. Located at 720 7th Street NW, the showroom is in the historic Chinatown neighborhood, and a stone's throw away from Capital One Arena. The new space will showcase Poppin's growing collection of commercial furniture to the DC community.

Poppin's national expansion and subsequent 70 percent jump in sales in 2018 can be attributed to its growing and diverse portfolio of furniture offerings. The company aims to capitalize on its startup roots, identifying markets that align with the creativity, ingenuity, and accessibility that is embodied by Poppin's line of modular furniture. With the announcement of Amazon's HQ2 in Northern Virginia and record funding in the DC area throughout 2018, a presence in the nation's capital is a strategic move for the brand.

“We're thrilled to bring a Poppin showroom to another thriving market,” says Poppin CEO Randy Nicolau. “Our target customers are high-growth companies who value great design and corporate culture to attract top talent. With a record number of venture capital deals closed in Q1 in the DC metro area, it seems we're moving in at the perfect time.”

Taking residence on the building's second floor, the DC showroom will accommodate both pre-scheduled appointments and walk-ins. The 4,479-square-foot space, which includes a distinctly Northeast exposed brick wall, will be outfitted similarly to its New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Santa Monica counterparts. With many brick-and-mortar retail stores suffering, Poppin has found success in scaling its showroom model and allowing customers to view and test its modern furniture and branded desktop accessories before purchasing them online or through a dedicated salesperson.
