Knoll and Architecture Firm HOK to present new study on the Defense Industry

Knoll Inc. and HOK, a global design, architecture, engineering, and planning firm, will host a research review and panel discussion that explores the workplace in the Defense Industry. To capture what is affecting defense contractors today, HOK and Knoll partnered to study the trends driving the modern-day defense workplace. The team surveyed corporate real estate leaders from major defense contractors and reviewed design guidelines developed for various clients over the past five years. Their research, compiled in a white paper titled Flexibility for Volatility – Building a High-Performance Defense Workplace, provides planning strategies for defense companies to consider within their workplaces.

The panel, moderated by Kay Sargent, HOK director of workplace, and Kimberly Smith, Knoll senior director of workplace strategy, will discuss trends impacting the industry and brainstorm solutions that respond to the challenges facing the contemporary defense workplaces. Knoll and HOK have invited a panel of experts to share their experiences and best practices. Panelists include: Charlie Spencer, Director, Real Estate & Facilities, Engility; Carole Horne, Director of Corporate Real Estate, The MITRE Corporation; and Dave Funaro, Real Estate Manager, SAIC.

The Defense Industry Research Event will begin at 8:00 AM on the morning of Tuesday, November 14th and is scheduled to end at 10:00 AM. The event will take place at the Knoll Washington D.C. Showroom on 1050 K Street NW, 2nd floor. If you are planning on attending, please RSVP to events@hok.com by November 13, 2017.
