Coakley Brothers, known mainly as a moving and storage company, also operates Brothers Business Interiors, a dealership representing several office furniture manufacturers. That division also provides interior design and construction management services.

Ridders Business Supply merges with Midwest Office
Ridders Business Supply Co. has merged with another company and will operate under a new name, but in many ways the 151-year-old company has not changed.
"Everything is the same, except we've got pricing we've never seen before," said Paul Ridder, who has run the company for more than 30 years.
Midwest Office of Springfield, Ill., merged with Ridders on April 17. Ridder, 69, said the deal made sense when none of his children wanted to operate the business.

Nemours Children’s Health System not only serves the usual inpatient population,but also serves outpatient visitors in their 65,000 square foot facility. Due to their large campus and the vast array of clinical services offered, consistency was important. Also on the top of their list was an inherent healing component. The building was purposely placed beside a forest and wetland and their team wished to bring that therapeutic feeling inside their walls, as well.
After 88 years, Arnold’s Office Furniture aims to double its growth in the next five years
Although known as Arnold’s Office Furniture today, immigrants David and Rose Norman founded their company as Norman’s Stationery Company in 1929. Their son, Arnold, joined the family business and started selling office furniture in 1950. He took over in 1973, renamed the company, and ran it until 2005, when he sold it to Jay Berkowitz.

CHYBIK + KRISTOF Installs Façade made of Chairs for Furniture Pavilion
Already from afar, onlookers on a brno housing estate in the Czech Republic can spot an all-black pavilion with an unusual and abstract looking envelope. On closer inspection, the low-rise volume is actually made up of a façade using many individual seats that have been angled and fixed directly onto the structure. This distinctive pavilion is a project where a former showroom for cars has been reinterpreted as a showroom and office for a furniture company.

Interior solutions provider Tangram, which focuses on commercial and creative design, has seen a 25% increase in sales since 2014 thanks to demand for co-designed and creative spaces. Custer has announced it is a dealer for Orangebox, a U.K.-based company that designs and develops office furniture for collaborative and flexible work environments. Custer will sell Orangebox's Air³ Acoustic Pod, which is an innovative, flexible room that can evolve with an organization as its work environment changes over time.
“Our world of work is changing quickly, therefore work environments you design and build today could change three years from now,” says David Driscol, vice president of regional sales at Custer.
One Workplace Announces Pair, A New Venture That Makes Tailored Furniture Design Simple And Accessible
San Francisco-based One Workplace has announced a new venture. According to the office furniture dealership, Pair, based out of San Francisco, will fulfill a long-standing need in the design community by finally giving designers the freedom to tailor furniture easily and affordably.
Pair is being led by Brian Buhl and Brian Wilson, the partners who successfully launched the two brand. Together, Wilson and Buhl plan to create a furniture brand that offers designers more freedom. "Up until now, companies haven't had much of a choice when it comes to furniture design," says Buhl. "There's always been the high-end fashion forward office furniture brands, but now we're giving clients a level of creativity that lets them truly personalize their furniture." Buhl adds, "We have a standard product catalogue, but nothing is precious, everything you see is completely hackable."
Commercial Office Interiors Merges with Silicon Valley's InsideSource
Commercial Office Interiors has merged with Silicon Valley-based workplace consultants and office furniture products dealer InsideSource.
The combined company will continue to operate from its location at 2601 4th Avenue in Seattle and retain all Commercial Office Interiors (COI) employees including local leadership. Terms of the new business formation were not disclosed. The Seattle office will do business as Commercial Office Interiors, an InsideSource Company. Dozens of InsideSource clients in the San Francisco Bay Area – many of them technology firms, have satellite operations in the Puget Sound area.

CUSTOMIZING WORKSPACES FOR MOBILE STAFF

Once upon a time the average work environment was very impersonal and lacked connotation. Now, all over the world the idea of what a professional work environment should be has evolved. Coupled with the way that people work within these environments. Organizations realized that designing a space that is conducive to its employee’s well-being, creativity as well as their potential, is of high importance. When the traditional workspace became obsolete, so did the idea of what a quality workspace looked and felt like.
