German Office Furniture Maker FM Büromöbel to be Acquired

One of the fastest growing German office furniture manufacturers, FM Büromöbel, has been sold to Vivonio Furniture GmbH. The company from Bösel, with 250 employees, will retain its production site, which has invested millions of euros in recent years. Also, the workers do not have to fear their job.

FM Büromöbel was founded in 1964 by Franz Meyer and his wife Lisa. The company has grown steadily, but since its investment growth has also been rapid. With sales growth of 60% over the last three years, FM has climbed to the top 10 manufacturers in Germany. In order to continue this growth, the owners have decided to sell Vivonio.

Investment fund behind Vivonio

Vivonio Furniture is the umbrella of several companies in the furniture industry. Known is the acquisition of Leuwico last year, as well as MAJA under the same label. Maja is IKEA's largest supplier. Vivonio is owned by Equistone Partners.

Theo Budde, CEO of FM, says about the acquisition: " We have found Vivonio the ideal partner. The acquisition offers great opportunities for further growth and synergy benefits. We see the greatest possibilities in cooperation with Leuwico, which will enable us to maintain intensive contacts. "

Vivonio's Director Elmar Duffner adds: " We take over a company that is excellently managed, with highly trained and involved staff. Together, we want to move on the FM road and realize further growth. "

New construction

In addition to the acquisition, FM also announces that it will be invested again in the production site. A new hall with an area of pproximately 7500 square meters will appear next to existing facilities, which will greatly increase production capacity.
