The Serenity Suite at Hotel Monaco, Chicago

Following a series of updates over the past couple of years, Chicago’s Hotel Monaco has now called on designer Alison Victoria to refresh one if its largest suites. With a time limit of only 28 days, Victoria’s aim was to render the project less a hotel room, but more a personal apartment. Using materials such as reclaimed wood, white marble and grey accessories, the neutral palette delivers a minimalist foundation, with flashy accent pieces from textured gold wall paint - custom-made by local artist Stephanie Gabel with Roux Design - to a wood and brass mini bar cabinet by Hammer Design, adding modern glamour to every corner.
