Spectrum Australia Group has designed the new offices of online higher ed company Open Universities Australia, located in Melbourne, Australia.
Spectrum Australia Group was engaged for the workplace design, construction and project management for Open Universities based in Docklands, Melbourne. The move marked an opportunity for Open Universities to make a statement of change and transition.
PRIVACY AND “PERMEATION” IN A GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS OFFICE
In 2015, EMD Serono — the U.S. division of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany — teamed up with INTEC Group to design their government and regulatory affairs office in Washington, DC.
EMD Serono first tasked INTEC with researching and designing an “office of the future.” From there, the team at INTEC studied employee engagement, wellness, and the multi-generational workforce, concluding that the client’s workplace of the future must consider biophilic design, kinetic architecture, and technology to provide a holistic and engaging work environment.
The result is an optimized, adaptable space that incorporates several layers of sustainable practices in terms of the materials used but also the positive impact on those who occupy the space.
FTI Offices – Geneva
Studio Banana has designed the new offices of FTI (Fondation des Terrains Industriels) located in Geneva, Switzerland.
The renovation project of the FTI foundation’s headquarters in the heart of Geneva’s industrial urban fabric was undertaken following two primary objectives:
On one hand, the need to activate a collaborative culture amongst the different departments, based on a transversal project dynamic, and on the other hand the need to propose a renewed and coherent client experience in line with the foundation’s values. The users were involved in a participatory co-design process from the start, helping to shape a common vision and to create an optimal user experience.
As the foundation is in charge of managing all industrial land in the state of Geneva, the involved departments are very diverse, from the urbanism and development team to the legal, including IT, finances or commercial, always working horizontally in each project.
The Behavioural Insights Team Offices – London
Aros Architects has designed the new offices for social purpose company The Behavioural Insights Team jointly owned by the UK government and Nesta located in London.
We worked with them from the beginning by carrying out stakeholder interviews to identify their aspirations for the new space; they wanted to move into an office space that supported and enhanced their agile working whilst remaining in a key central location. A town hall space was very important for them to house company wide meetings as well as presentations in a flexible space that could be reconfigured for events.
United Nations office gets gorgeous midcentury renovation
Normally, when someone leaves a job, they take their personal effects and office decorations with them. But when Mogens Lykketoft, a famed Danish lawmaker and current President of the United Nations General Assembly hands over the reins to Fijian Ambassador Peter Thomson of Fiji, he’ll leaving a gift for him and his successors: midcentury Danish design, courtesy of his countrymen at The Republic of Fritz Hansen.
