Google's much-hyped new campus has a somewhat new look. After the City of Mountain View limited the buildable space, the tech company was forced to reduce the overall size of the complex. The overarching concept remains intact—a micro "city" of buildings lined by bike paths, outdoor walkways, and gardens—but, like many ambitious projects, it's had to make some concessions when the reality of regulations sets in.
Shared-office-space startup WeWork Cos. has raised about $430 million in a new round of financing led by Chinese investors, making it one of the world’s most valuable startups and clearing the way for a push into Asia. Beijing-based private equity company Hony Capital Ltd. and Legend Holdings, its parent company, led the round of financing, WeWork company executives said, giving the company a valuation of about $16 billion, up from $10 billion last summer.
Designed as part of the Washington Collection for Knoll, the Prism Lounge Chair and Ottoman use geometry and pattern to define form. The pieces are intended as sculptural or architectural objects that can be viewed from any side.
